It's recommended to not wear anything new on race day because you might end up feeling uncomfortable and the clothing can lead to chafing or blistering. You should wear your favorite running clothes, shoes, socks, hats, visors and whatever you normally wear when exercising outdoors.

A good rule of thumb when choosing your walkathon outfit is to dress as if it’s 15 to 20 degrees warmer than the actual temperature, since you’re going to warm up a lot once you start running.
